How are appointments made?

Appointments are generally scheduled by the psychologist. You can call 330-952-2902 and leave a message and the psychologist will call you back with available times. The standard appointment time is 45-50 minutes, although this may vary with individual circumstances.

What if an appointment can’t be kept?

If you must cancel an appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the session.

Do I need to do anything before my first appointment?

In an effort to make your first appointment be as efficient as possible, we ask that you visit our patient portal. There you can conveniently download the intake paperwork to bring with you to your appointment. If you are uncertain as to how to answer some of the questions, your psychologist will assist you at your appointment.

Will the information shared with the psychologist be kept confidential?

The privacy of information exchanged with the psychologist in the course of diagnosis and treatment is protected by law. The law also requires the psychologist to break confidentiality with or without your permission if you or someone else is at risk of serious harm. You and Dr. Persaud may decide together that it is in your best interest to exchange information with another party. In that case, you will be asked for written consent.

What does therapy cost?

This practice is primarily fee-for-service. Medina Family Practice and Wellness Center does not submit claims to insurance companies on your behalf. If needed, after each session you can acquire an invoice for services with all of the information necessary that you can submit to your insurance provider on your own, utilizing any out-of-network benefits that may be available to you.  Please contact your insurance company for information on whether your plan has out-of-network benefits, and how you can go about submitting the necessary paperwork for reimbursement.  However, to be clear, you are expected to pay the fee in full at each session and Medina Family Practice and Wellness Center and/or Dr. Persaud will not submit out-of-network claims for you.

Please contact the office for specific pricing of services.

Payments will be collected at each session and may be made by check, money order, cash, or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express). Any returned checks or late payments may be subject to a $35 fee

Do you take insurance?

Medina Family Practice does NOT accept insurance so payment can be made by cash, check, or credit card at the time of service. A superbill may be collected at the end of services for you to submit to your insurance if you so wish. Paying out of pocket allows you to make treatment decisions with the psychologist in a safe and confidential environment, with no interruptions in care. Since there is no billing costs, we are able to offer you a discounted price.
